Pierce County Announces Free COVID-19 Testing Events

Mobile testing stations will be visiting communities across Pierce County over the coming weeks and offering free tests.

GIG HARBOR, WA β€” The Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and county leadership are teaming up to bring free testing to several communities with a mobile testing site. Together, they'll be hosting over a half dozen testing events over the coming month.

The county says everyone is invited to stop by and get tested, but they're especially encouraging anyone who:

  • Has experienced coronavirus symptom like fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle pains or headaches, loss of taste or smell, stuffy nose, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.
  • Has been near someone who was diagnosed with COVID-19 or were in a large gathering of people.
  • Is at high-risk for the virus, including the elderly or those with related respiratory illnesses.

The county says the tests are completely free and identification is not required. Once a patient is tested, results will be available in five to seven days.
