Police Department to Offer Free Home Security Services

The Gig Harbor Police Department's C.O.P.S. volunteers will be offering two free services to residents inside the City of Gig Harbor.

As you leave your home for vacation this summer, the Gig Harbor Police want to help prevent thieves from breaking into your home. The department's volunteer corps, Citizens Offering Police Support (formerly known as Citizens on Patrol) will be offering two services for free to residents within the city limits.

Residential Home Security Survey

Residents can schedule a time to have a trained C.O.P.S. Volunteer come to their house and guide them through a checklist of important safety factors to make the home safer and potentially less enticing to thieves.

The inspection includes making sure the doors and door locks work properly and storing valuables in and around the home.
