Police Search For Suspect In Assault, Attempted Burglary Case
The suspect allegedly grabbed a woman by the throat and repeatedly punched her in the face.

GIG HARBOR, WA - The Pierce County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in tracking down a suspect in an attempted burglary and assault of a homeowner. On Monday, Feb. 5, at about 5:50 p.m. a woman was assaulted when she interrupted a burglary at her residence on 149th St. NW in Gig Harbor. She was walking out of her garage and was knocked to the ground by the suspect.
The suspect grabbed the woman's throat and punched her in the face several times. The victim fought back as she was able to arm herself with a pistol and fired one shot into the ceiling of the garage.
The suspect depicted in the image is a white man in his sixties. He was last seen wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and smelled strongly of cigarette smoke.

Crime Stoppers of Tacoma-Pierce County is offering a reward of up to $1000 dollars for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. Call 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Callers will remain anonymous.
