Recognize Him? Robber Tried To Slash Gas Station Clerk: Police

The robbery happened over the weekend at a gas station north of Gig Harbor.

GIG HARBOR, WA - Pierce County detectives are looking for a man who recently robbed a gas station near Gig Harbor and tried to slash the clerk with a knife.

The robbery happened Sunday near 2 p.m. at the Chevron at the intersection of Purdy Drive and 144th Street Northwest. The man seen in the video walked into the store armed with a knife and then jumped behind the counter and demanded cash.

During the robbery, the suspect tried to cut the clerk, who had to defend himself against the attack. The robber eventually left the scene and got into a car waiting outside.

Toward the end of the video, you can see that the robber has a distinct black tattoo on his upper chest near his collar bone. Police described the suspect as a white male standing about 6'2".
