Smell Smoke In Gig Harbor? It Might Be A Wildfire
A fire burning near Gig Harbor was filling the area with a smoky smell Tuesday morning.

GIG HARBOR, WA - If you catch a whiff of smoke in the air Tuesday, chances are it's coming from a wildfire burning in Mason County.
Gig Harbor fire reported Tuesday that there's a 60-acre fire burning to the west. The smoke may stick around as long as firefighters are fighting the blaze.
"Smoke may linger over the next few days as wildland crews continue to attempt to extinguish the fire," Gig Harbor fire wrote on Facebook Tuesday morning.

All counties west of the Cascades are at "moderate" risk for wildfires, according to the state Department of Natural Resources. Gig Harbor fire reminded city residents to call 911 if they do see a fire not related to the Mason County wildfire.
