The Stick Says It All!
Current zoning on Harborview has houses sit back from the property line 20' and the 18' height of the house is measured from the 20' behind the property line point.
Proposed new zoning will have houses sit back only 12' BUT the 18' height of the house is measured from the property line/right of way.
This is a very big difference. When you walk along the sidewalk or ride in a car, you could have 18' of your waterview covered by a house.
Now the city has this little drawing of Site Section. Yep, take a look at it and pay close attention to the red circle with the black dot, cause that is where the 18' is measured at, and that is pretty close to the sidewalk.
Oct. 14, about 5pm (time not set yet) that is the day you can actually have your say about these proposed zoning changes.
