Today's riddle: What do you call a belt that is made of watches? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Kent political, aerospace leaders on Governor's Space Council (seattleweekly.com) — Kent residents are seeing their city take a central role in Washington's growing space economy, with Mayor Dana Ralph, Sen. Claudia Kauffman, and leaders from Kent-based Stoke Space and Blue Origin appointed to the new Governor's Space Council. The group will advise Gov. Bob Ferguson on launch infrastructure, workforce needs, and policies that could shape jobs, investment, and aerospace growth in and around Kent for years to come.
2. Two men killed in Kent drive-by shooting identified (seattleweekly.com) — Two 20-year-old men have been identified after they were killed in a drive-by shooting Monday morning along South 272nd Street under the I-5 overpass in Kent. With no arrests yet, Kent Police are calling the attack targeted and are asking anyone with information or video from the area to contact their tip line or call 911 with urgent details.
3. U.S. Marshals Service arrests Kent man for Alabama robbery (seattleweekly.com) — A 41-year-old Kent man was arrested in Kent by U.S. Marshals in connection with an alleged home invasion robbery in Alabama, where suspects reportedly posed as law enforcement. He's being held at the Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent on $250,000 bail while awaiting extradition, with authorities emphasizing how impersonating officers endangers community trust and safety.
4. 'I'm not sure we'd make the same decision': A rocket maker's reality check for the Seattle region (geekwire.com) — Kent's rapidly growing rocket maker Stoke Space now runs a 168,000-square-foot factory in the city and employs hundreds statewide, but its CEO warns he might not choose Washington again today. Citing political hostility to founders, tax proposals, and school concerns, he urges state leaders to act quickly so future space companies still see Kent and the region as the best place to build.
