Thousands In Kirkland Lose Power During Windstorm

Several outages were scattered across Kirkland Monday around 4 p.m. in the midst of a serious windstorm.

KIRKLAND, WA - Some 2,000 people in Kirkland were without power near 4 p.m. Friday as a serious windstorm rolled through the region. More than 30,000 people across Puget Sound Energy's service area were without power Monday evening.

By 8 p.m., another 1,200 people were without power in the downtown area.

The largest outage in Kirkland was located north of the Finn Hill neighborhood stretching as far as north as Northeast 165th Street. Another 57 people were without power at Champagne Point on Lake Washington.

The region was under a high wind advisory until 9 p.m. Monday, so there might be more power outages on the way.
