2 Kirkland Teens Hit While Crossing Street

The teens were hit Thursday night along Lake Washington Boulevard.

KIRKLAND, WA - Two teenagers were hit by a car Thursday night while crossing Lake Washington Boulevard, according to a city spokesperson. The teens were both injured, with one taken to Harborview Medical Center for a possible head injury.

The collision happened around 10 p.m. Thursday near Houghton Beach Park. According to police, the teens were crossing in or near a crosswalk when a passenger car hit them.

One teen, a girl, was taken to Overlake Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The boy was taken to Harborview for the possible head injury.

Police are still investigating what caused the collision, but police do not believe the driver was intoxicated. The driver stayed at the scene of the accident and has been cooperating with police.
