• Police bust 'cat burglar' bobcat, caught on video in Washington home (timesunion.com) — Kirkland residents recently called 911 about banging in their Moss Bay home, only for police to discover a bobcat had climbed in through an open window. Officers used a drone to monitor the animal, safely contained it, and worked with state wildlife officials to sedate and release it near Forbes Creek, with no injuries to people, pets, or the bobcat.
   

• Students finish academics in 2 hours at New AI School in Kirkland (kiro7.com) — Families in Kirkland now have a new private K–8 option as Alpha School opens a campus where students complete core academics in about two AI-driven hours a day. The rest of the schedule focuses on projects and life skills, with small groups led by adult guides, high tuition, and ongoing enrollment for local students interested in this unconventional model.
   

• Conference Slate Opens Against Penn State On Friday - University of Washington Athletics (gohuskies.com) — University of Washington men's soccer opens Big Ten play Friday night against Penn State, with the high-scoring Huskies riding strong early-season form.
