• Oakland Rain to Open for Judy Collins Fall 2026 U.S. Tour (broadwayworld.com) — Kirkland music fans can see Norwegian indie folk-pop duo Oakland Rain opening for Judy Collins at Kirkland Performing Arts Center on September 30. The stop is part of Collins' SWEET Judy Blue EYES FAREWELL tour, with Oakland Rain supporting on multiple U.S. dates. Tickets and updates are available through the duo's website for those planning to attend.
• 9th Circuit backs WA abortion mandate over Kirkland church (seattlered.com) — A Kirkland church has lost its latest challenge to Washington's requirement that health plans covering maternity care also cover abortion, after a Ninth Circuit panel upheld the state laws. The ruling details how Cedar Park Assembly of God could have chosen alternative insurance plans and notes a separate lawsuit by a Kirkland father against the Lake Washington School District. Further appeals to the full Ninth Circuit or Supreme Court remain possible.
• PCC Nominations for the Labor Management advisory Committee are open! — UFCW 3000 (ufcw3000.org) — PCC workers at the Kirkland store can soon nominate themselves or coworkers for a new Labor Management Advisory Committee seat when online nominations open Sept. 21–25. The committee will help shape decisions on profit‑sharing, staffing, training, and store operations, with elected members serving three‑year terms and joining regular paid meetings and Zoom information sessions during the nomination week.
