Cross Kirkland Corridor Closing This Week For Upgrades

The upgrades will help prevent flooding along the Cross-Kirkland Corridor, according to city officials.

From the city of Kirkland:

KIRKLAND, WA - Crews working on the Cross Kirkland Corridor (CKC) will require the trailโ€™s closure between NE 112th Street and 110th Avenue NE on Thursday, August 24, 2017, from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Signs are currently posted and will remain during the closure. There is no provided detour due to the short, single-day timeframe.

Crews will be using large vehicles for excavation and other purposes to maintain the ditches. The type of work and equipment is unsafe for pedestrians and bicyclists to navigate around.

The work being done will lessen the likelihood of trail damage and needed maintenance in the future by ensuring that the ditches along the CKC can redirect rainfall and other surface water. This will protect against flooding and trail washouts.
