Dining Bytes: Le Grand Birthday Deal, Beach Toasts 520, Purple Benefit Supper

Here are some quick hits of dining news around town in January.

Dining deals from around Kirkland range from upscale to humorous this month.

The Parisian bistro at Carillon Point is celebrating its first anniversary in Kirkland by offering a $25 gift certificate good towards food and beverages for two during dinner hours. This sweet deal is good until Feb. 5.

Happy hour has always been associated with stress relief, but Beach Cafe has added a bit of humor to the cocktail list to make the 520 bridge toll easier to swallow. From now through April, customers can order the "Good to Go Cosmo" or the "Bumper to Bumper Special" for just $5.20 during the restaurant’s happy hour from 4-6 p.m. and 9 p.m.-close.

The theme this month during Purple Cafe’s Sunday Supper is Italy! Enjoy a three course meal with Italian wine pairings for $50 ($30 without pairings). Choose from an ambitious braised rabbit with gnocchi and black trumpet mushrooms or rigatoni with seafood and a decadent mascarpone-vodka tomato sauce. Ten percent of Sunday Supper sales are donated to charity -- this month’s recipient is the Bailey-Boushay House that serves patients living with HIV/AIDS.
