Finn Hill Resident Jon Pascal Chosen For Vacant Council Seat
This is the second time that the local business owner sought to join the Council.

KIRKLAND, WA - The City Council has chosen longtime city resident and local business owner Jon Pascal to replace Shelley Kloba, who is leaving the Council to serve in the state Legislature.
The Council chose Pascal during a special meeting on Dec. 19. Pascal will officially begin his term on the Council on Jan. 1.
Pascal is extremely active in local government and community groups. He previously sought to fill a vacancy on the Council in 2013. Pascal is a former member of the Kirkland Chamber of Commerce, served on the Planning Commission between 2010 and 2016, and served on the Transportation Commission between 2001 and 2010. He's also a member of the Finn Hill Neighborhood Alliance.

Pascal is the co-owner of an engineering firm, Transpo Group, in the Totem Lake area. In a letter he wrote to Council applying for the vacancy, he says that he wants to focus on commercial growth in the Totem Lake area.
"With my business being located in Totem Lake, I have experienced the need for commercial space to grow, so it is my desire to achieve a significant and prolonged transformation of this area into a robust and diverse economic center that will attain and attract employers," he wrote.

Pascal also said that he wants to use his engineering expertise to work on traffic congestion, bike infrastructure, and creating more park space.
