FRUGAL FAMILY: Five Local Deals to Help You Save Money

Editor's Note: Today we introduce a new feature on Kirkland Patch, "Frugal Family." Every Wednesday morning we'll offer a list of five bargains from businesses around Kirkland to help you stretch your family budget.

This week, we scoured the area to come up with great deals on skin care, haircuts, meals, dry cleaning and recreation. Here are this week’s Frugal Family Deals: 

1. ELECTROLYSIS & SKINCARE

Deal: Get a 10 percent discount on the first service for new clients at this Juanita spa service, voted among the top five best facials in KING/5's Western Washington contest.

Deal: This salon on Kirkland Avenue downtown, with seven stylists, offers a free haircut with highlights for new clients. We call that a screamin' deal!

Deal: What kid doesn't like pizza? Get a free entree from the kids menu when you purchase an adult entrée at Romio's pizza and past restaurant in the Totem Lake area. Mondays and Tuesdays, 5-9 p.m.

Deal: Bakker's on Sixth Street South in Houghton this month is offering area rug cleaning for $2/square foot, with special fringe cleaning. Click here to print a coupon to bring with you.

Deal: The longtime bowling alley on Rose Hill offers “Early Dismissal Wednesdays”  – $2 Games and $2 Shoes, 1-4 p.m. Someone in your party must show a valid K-12 student ID.
