Half Marathon Will Create Kirkland Detours

Kirkland Traffic Alert: Lake Washington Half Marathon & 5k, November 4th.

KIRKLAND, WA - From Explore Kirkland & Kirkland Government: Commuters should expect traffic delays due to the Lake Washington Half Marathon and 5k run to be held at Juanita Beach Park on Saturday, November 4. A course map is posted online at www.kirklandwa.gov/specialevents.

The following closures will be in effect:

ยท The beach parking lot and eastbound NE Juanita Drive from 93rd Avenue NE to 98th Avenue NE will be closed with detour in place from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

ยท Southbound lanes of 98th Avenue NE from NE Juanita Drive to Forbes Creek Drive will close temporarily at 8 a.m. for approximately 10 minutes.

ยท Southbound Lakeshore Plaza will be closed from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. The Lakeshore Plaza parking lot will remain accessible via Kirkland Avenue.

Event organizers expect 1,000 athletes will participate in the event which benefits Cascade Leadership Challenge. The non-profit organization is dedicated to providing leadership and outdoor adventure opportunities for young adults ages 14-25.
