Historian McCauley to Sign Copies of His Kirkland History Book
The just-released second edition of 'A Look to the Past: Kirkland' includes stories of Kirkland's intriguing early years.

Local historian and author will sign copies of the just-released second edition of his book A Look to the Past: Kirkland on Friday during ’ 9th Annual Holiday Celebration.
McCauley, 47, is a native of Juanita and in the second edition added a chapter on the diphtheria outbreak in 1882 that tragically took the lives of two children of , who settled in what is now Kirkland’s Highlands neighborhood.
The new edition was released earlier this week and sells for $24.95. The book is a compilation of 51 columns McCauley wrote for the former Kirkland Courier newspaper, illustrated with historic photos from the archives of the Kirkland Heritage Society.
Parkplace Books is at 348 Parkplace Center, and the event, which includes other Northwest authors, is from 7-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9.
