Juanita Beach Closed Due To High Bacteria Levels
King County announced the closure just before 5 p.m. Thursday.

KIRKLAND, WA - King County reported Thursday afternoon that water quality tests have revealed high levels of harmful bacteria at Juanita Beach Park. The beach will be closed at least until another round of tests can be performed on Monday.
"Juanita Beach is closed due to high bacteria concentrations. We recommend that people and pets do not swim or wade at this beach, drink lake water, or engage in other water-contact activities," the county wrote in a bulletin released Thursday.
It's an inopportune time for the beach to close. Temperatures will remain in the upper 80s on Friday, and climb up into the 90s by Saturday, according to current forecasts.
