He is currently free on conditional release.

The IRS audited his taxes for 2001 to 2003. According to agents, he earned substantial income from selling insurance from 2001 to 2006 and owed some $444,761, but paid a total of about $44,444.

When the IRS referred his case to its collections division, he failed to mention assets, including a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette, a 1974 Chevrolet Nova, a 1996 GMC K-1500, and a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe. Fisher also also failed to mention a 2004 Chaparral boat that he owned, and when questioned about it claimed he had no equity in the boat. However, according to the press release, agents discovered he had sold the boat and received about $17,227.

In 2007, Fisher again failed to mention another vehicle among his assets, and agents say he also paid for expensive vacation packages during the period of his outstanding tax debt. He filed for bankruptcy in 2007.
