Kirkland Cancels All Outdoor Activities Due To Smoke

Air quality in Puget Sound has deteriorated since Tuesday, according to the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency.

KIRKLAND, WA - City officials have canceled multiple activities in Kirkland Wednesday due to poor air quality. On Wednesday morning, the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency rated the air in the Kirkland area as "unhealthy" for anyone engaged in any activity.

Due to poor air quality caused by smoke from regional wildfires, the City of Kirkland has canceled or postponed all outdoor recreation activities for today, August 15, 2018. The Peter Kirk Pool will be closed through the evening. No lifeguards will be on duty at Houghton Beach, Waverly Beach or Juanita Beach.
