Kirkland Firefighters Seek Late Surge in Holiday Donation Drive
The firefighters will deliver the donations of toys and food they have collected to Hopelink on Dec. 19.

Kirkland Firefighters are seeking a late surge as they wrap up their annual Christmas Donation toy and food drive, a longtime tradition that benefits .
Lt. Bill Hoover said donations have been strong this year, but more are needed to help local families in need. If you can help, please bring any amount of non-perishable food items, new, unwrapped gifts or even monetary donations to any Kirkland fire station from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The program is believed to have starred in the 1970s with a “Christmas Basket” campaign, the donations distributed in person the night before Christmas.
The firefighters now work with the local non-profit service agency Hopelink, and on Dec. 19 will deliver the last of the donations they have collected to its on 120th Avenue NE.
Kirkland’s six fire stations are in Houghton, Rose Hill, Finn Hill and the Totem Lake/Kingsgate area. For directons, click here.
