Kirkland Interior Designer Jailed For Tax Evasion
Daniel NIx helped design medical offices all over the Seattle area. He also failed to pay $560,000 in taxes, according to court documents.

KIRKLAND, WA - The owner of a Kirkland interior design business will go to federal prison for tax evasion and other crimes, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Seattle. Daniel Nix owned Dannix Design, a firm that specializes in medical office interior design.
Nix failed to pay about $560,000 in income and business taxes between 2010 and 2013, among other crimes. Meanwhile, prosecutors say, Nix lived a "lavish" lifestyle, with luxury vehicles and a $1 million Kirkland home.
"He set up sham religious entities and transferred assets into the names of those sham religious entities, in order to frustrate IRS efforts to put liens on his assets," the U.S. Attorney's office described in a statement.
