Kirkland Man Shoots Self At Gun Range
The 71-year-old turned a pistol on himself at the Plantation Rifle Range in Whatcom County, according to reports.

BELLINGHAM, WA - A 71-year-old man from Kirkland died after shooting himself at a Whatcom County gun range on Sunday, according to reports. The man went to the Plantation Rifle Range outside of Bellingham Sunday, rented a 9 mm pistol, and began shooting targets.
At one point, the man put the gun against his head and pulled the trigger, according to the Bellingham Herald.
The Whatcom County medical examiner has ruled the death a suicide. The man left instructions on a bench at the rifle range for what to do with his dog, which was inside his car. The man's name was not released.

The Bellingham Herald reported that there have been two other suicides at the Plantation Rifle Range since 2009. A Canadian man shot himself there in 2009, and a woman from Bellingham did the same in 2010.
