Kirkland Police Kill Suspect Near Totem Lake
Police said the suspect was armed with a rifle at an apartment complex along Northeast 124th Street.

KIRKLAND, WA - A Kirkland police officer shot and killed an allegedly armed man Tuesday afternoon at an apartment complex in the Totem Lake area. The confrontation happened around 4:30 p.m. at the Emerson Apartments along Northeast 124th Street.
According to police, officers were called to the building on a report of a disturbance. When they arrived, they found a man armed with a rifle. It's unclear how long police were on scene, but the department said on Twitter the shooting happened when officers first contacted the man.
The officer was not hurt in the confrontation, although police reported he is "shaken."

Kirkland Police responded to a disturbance with a man with a rifle at Emerson Apartments at 4:21 pm. On contact the armed suspect was shot and killed by an Officer. The suspect has died at the scene despite attempts to save him. The Officer is obviously shaken, but not injured.
