Kirkland Police Nab 2 In Car Prowl Spree In King County
Kirkland police arrested a man and woman recently who are suspected of committing car prowls from Kirkland to Kent.

KIRKLAND, WA - Kirkland police recently arrested a woman and man suspected in dozens of car prowl and identity theft crimes around King County. The woman was the prime suspect in the case, police said, and the man was with her when police caught up to her. The woman had allegedly committed thefts across King County, including in Bellevue, Sammamish, Renton, and Kent.
Kirkland police began investigating a rash of car prowls on March 19, and quickly discovered that surrounding cities were experiencing similar crimes. The thieves would steal purses and other valuables, and then use credit and debit cards to buy pre-paid Visa gift cards at QFC grocery stores.
At one point, a QFC clerk recognized the woman and called police. She was arrested, but was able to post bail and was released. But, police say, she immediately began the car prowls again.
