Kirkland Woman Arrested For Allegedly Robbing 85-Year-Old

Redmond Police made the arrest two hours after the robbery occurred.

REDMOND, WA - Police have arrested a 57-year-old Kirkland woman who allegedly stole from an elderly woman at downtown shopping center on Monday.

While shopping on Monday afternoon, an 85-year-old Issaquah resident was approached inside a store by another woman who told her that they had accidentally switched carts. The suspect returned the victim's purse - but the victim soon realized that it was missing some items.

She followed the suspect out into the parking lot. Then, the suspect got in a car and sped away, nearly hitting the 85-year-old in the process, police said.

Police were able to track down the suspect through witness accounts, including the license plate of the car. The suspect was arrested at a home in Kirkland near 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
