KPD Blotter: 16-Year-Old Caught Stealing Liquor From Safeway

The following are selected reports from the Kirkland Police Department for the period of May 24-30. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

May 24

  • A woman contacted police to report that she believed that her wallet was stolen from her purse while at . The wallet was found outside two hours later, missing $400 in cash.

  • Police arrested a 52-year-old Issaquah man for possession of marijuana after they served a misdemeanor warrant at a location on Lake Washington Blvd. Northeast.
  • An employee of the contacted police after a storage shed was broken into and a leaf blower and a microwave were reported missing.

May 26

  • Police arrested a 19-year-old Kirkland man for disorderly conduct after he was stopped for being intoxicated in public, being in possession of marijuana and possessing alcohol as a minor.
  • Police arrested a 25-year-old Kirkland man on a Lynnwood warrant and released him to Lynnwood police.

  • Police were dispatched to the Lochshire Apartments after an unknown suspect gained entry to the secure parking garage and broke into 38 plastic storage lockers. 
  • Police were dispatched to the after an unknown subject attempted to steal $180 worth of groceries from the store. When the subject was approached by employees outside the store he dropped the groceries and ran.

May 28

  • Police arrested a 16-year-old Kirkland boy after he was caught stealing $437.89 worth of liquor from the .
  • A Redmond woman contacted police after she discovered that $364 in cash had been stolen from her wallet at . The woman had briefly left her purse and wallet unattended at the market.

May 29

  • Police were dispatched to Consignments after the business was burglarized over Memorial Day weekend. Police believe the suspect originally came into the store as a shopper and unlocked a back window to enter through overnight. Cash and jewelry were stolen.
  • Police arrested a 52-year-old Kirkland woman for malicious mischief after she threw rocks through a residential window near 10th Avenue West.
  • A woman contacted police after she noticed that two bicycles were missing from a common storage area in her secure garage in the Lochshire Apartments. A box containing bicycle repair tools was also taken.


May 30

  • Police arrested a 26-year-old Kirkland man on a misdemeanor warrant at Evergreen Hospital.
