Large Eastside Theft Ring Busted By Kirkland Police

Five people were arrested Friday after a raid on an apartment complex in the Kingsgate area.

KIRKLAND, WA - Five people were arrested Friday by Kirkland police in what the department is describing as a bust of a theft ring tied to "hundreds of victims" in local cities. The suspects are responsible for a range of crimes, police said, including mail theft, identity theft, and car theft.

Police raided the apartment along the 12200 block of Northeast 147th Place around 7:15 a.m. Friday. Inside the apartment, police found stolen mail, IDs, forged checks, counterfeit money, drugs, and counterfeiting equipment.

Over the past couple months, Kirkland Police have been investigating several cases in the area
to include reports of mail theft, identity theft, vehicle theft and prowling, narcotics use, and
counterfeiting in the region. The suspects identified in a couple of these investigations were tied
to an apartment located in the Kingsgate area of Kirkland. Kirkland Detectives obtained a search
warrant for the unit.

Police are still investigating the theft ring and said more arrests are possible.
