Nevada Man Dies While Changing Tire On I-405

The 37-year-old was hit in the Totem Lake area late Tuesday night, according to Washington State Patrol.

KIRKLAND, WA — A 37-year-old from Nevada was hit and killed along I-405 in Kirkland late Tuesday night. The driver who hit the man didn't stop, according to police.

At around 11 p.m., John C. Mena, of Elko, Nev., was changing a tire along the shoulder of I-405 near 132nd Street. Police believe the man was crouched near the fog line near traffic. The unknown driver hit the man and kept going.

Washington State Patrol was still trying to find the driver of the car as of Wednesday morning.
