Pedestrian Struck By SUV Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries
A woman was hit by and the trapped under an SUV before emergency crews rescued her.

KIRKLAND, WA - A 78-year-old woman was hit by an SUV and suffered life-threatening injuries Friday afternoon. The incident happened at 11200 block of NE 68th Street and the woman was trapped under the vehicle. She was later extricated by emergency crews and transported to Harborview Medical Center.
Witnesses told police that the woman was walking south across NE 68th Street near 112th Avenue NE when the SUV turned west from 112th Avenue NE onto NE 68th Street and hit the woman.
The pedestrian was not in a marked crosswalk. Police said the driver of the SUV is cooperating with the investigation and there's no indication that alcohol or drugs caused the wreck. The case remains under investigation.
