Kirkland Man, 18, Dies On I-405 While Hanging Out Window Of BMW
A person died early Monday morning after the vehicle they were hanging out of hit a guardrail along I-405.
KIRKLAND, WA - State police are reporting that a man who died in a crash along I-405 early Monday morning was hanging out the window when the BMW he was in hit a guardrail. The man was identified as Sidney Jahn, 18, and was from Kirkland.
The crash happened just before 4 a.m. along southbound I-405 near Northeast 85th Street. Jahn was hanging out the window, state police said, when the car, which was speeding, lost control and hit the guardrail. Jahn was ejected from the vehicle and was dead at the scene.
The driver of the BMW has yet to be identified. The car fled the scene, according to state police, but was later located in Kirkland at the Juanita Apartments.
