Police Investigate Rumor Of Shooting Threat At Juanita HS
Police were on scene at Juanita High School in Kirkland Thursday morning investigating a rumored shooting threat.

KIRKLAND, WA - Kirkland police investigated a school shooting threat rumor Thursday morning at Juanita High School. Police were treating the situation with an "abundance of caution," but by 11 a.m. Thursday reported that the threat was confirmed as a rumor.
The school did not dismiss students, although a planned assembly was cancelled.
Juanita High School is located at 10601 Northeast 132nd St., which is northwest of the Totem Lake area.

There have been multiple local school shooting threats since the Feb. 14 shooting in Parkland, Fla. Three teens were arrested in Pierce County last month for making separate threats to attack Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Spanaway Lake High School, and Truman Middle School in Tacoma. The day before the Parkland shooting, a high school student in Everett was arrested or allegedly plotting to attack his Mukilteo school.
Kirkland PD are at Juanita HS for a school shooting rumor. With an abundance of caution a planned assembly was cancelled by the Juanita HS and students are in class.We are working together with the HS to ensure continued safety of students and staff.Thank you for your patience.
