Retaliation Shooting In Kirkland: 4 Suspects Arrested

Four people came to Kirkland from the Tacoma area on Jan. 6 to carry out retaliation against a woman's ex-boyfriend, police have learned.

KIRKLAND, WA - Kirkland police have arrested four people from the Tacoma area in connection to a Jan. 6 shooting in the downtown area that left one man injured.

The shooting happened around 9 a.m. on Jan. 6 at an apartment building along Central Way near Peter Kirk Park. The four suspects assaulted the victim and then shot him before fleeing the scene.

On Jan. 8, police arrested David A. Garcia, 21, and Tashylah Combs, 18. The next day, they arrested Gabriel Garcia, 23. That same day, the fourth suspect, Taylor Campbell, 18, was arrested in Pierce County.

The suspects came to Kirkland that day to retaliate against the victim, who is the ex-boyfriend of one of the suspects.

"One suspect directed them to where the victim was staying for the night with a friend in downtown Kirkland. Three of the suspects physically assaulted the victim and one of the four suspects shot him with a handgun they had brought to the scene," Kirkland police said in a press release.

All four suspects are facing a first-degree assault charge. The victim was treated at Harborview Medical Center and survived the gunshot wound.
