Reward Boosted In 1983 Kirkland Cold Case Killing
13-year-old Patrick Cress disappeared in the spring of 1983 after heading to a sleepover. His body was found three weeks later.

KIRKLAND, WA — King County investigators are hoping an increased cash reward may help uncover information on the unsolved 1983 murder of a 13-year-old Kirkland boy. Patrick Cress disappeared from the Juanita/Kingsgate area after going to a friend's house in the spring of 1983. According to the sheriff's office, the boy never showed up to meet his parents the following day.
Patrick's body was found three weeks after he was reported missing.
In the years since, detectives have garnered few leads. According to a social media post Monday, an anonymous donor recently put forward an additional $4,000 for information leading to the arrest of a suspect, bringing the total reward amount up to $5,000.
