Robbery Near Kirkland Safeway: Shots Fired, Man Seriously Injured
Kirkland police responded to a Safeway and found the victim with serious injuries to his head and neck.

KIRKLAND, WA - A robbery victim opened fire on two men who assaulted him Monday night in the parking lot outside the Safeway along Northeast 85th Street, according to police.
The incident happened near 8 p.m. Monday, according to police. Officers arrived at the Rose Hill Safeway to find the victim with serious injuries to his face and head. The victim had gone to the Safeway to meet two men. They ended up assaulting the victim and robbing him of his cell phone and money.
The victim responded by opening fire with a .45 caliber handgun. He hit the suspects' car, which was described as a dark-colored sedan. The suspects escaped and have not been located.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
