Stryrofest Shredding Event Coming To Kirkland
Get all your papers and styrofoam shredded at this upcoming event.

From The City of Kirkland: Free confidential paper shredding and Styrofoam™ recycling will be available at Styrofest on Saturday, December 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Public Works Maintenance Center at 915 8th St, Kirkland, WA.
Residents can drop off their clean plastic foam for recycling at December’s Styrofest. Additionally, flexible polyethylene foam (EPE), plastic grocery bags, plastic film, bubble wrap and plastic strapping will be accepted. Packing peanuts are not accepted. Free confidential paper shredding will also be available. Residents can bring up to four file-sizes boxes (or equivalent) of paper to be shredded and recycled. Shredding will be completed by Confidential Data Disposal.
Shredding confidential papers with a commercial service, instead of at home, allows the paper to be recycled. Shredded paper is not accepted in curbside recycling. While shredding with a service is preferable to shredding at home, shredded paper has fewer recycling applications than larger paper pieces, so it is best to shred only what you need.

Kirkland’s monthly Styrofoam™ recycling events will be returning in 2019, with the addition of free confidential shredding at two events in 2019. A printable flyer with all dates for 2019 is available.
Since winter 2013, Kirkland residents have been recycling Styrofoam™ and more at the City’s monthly StyroFest events. The City regularly collects more than 75 cubic yards of material per event, keeping the plastic material out of the landfill and giving it a second life in products such as composite decking, lawn furniture and picture frames.
