SUV Crash With Utility Pole Closes Juanita Drive, Spurs Blackout

Juanita Drive was closed Monday afternoon and hundreds were without power after the crash.

KIRKLAND, WA — Traffic was being detoured around a stretch of Juanita Drive near Big Finn Hill Park Monday afternoon after an SUV collided with a utility pole, according to Kirkland police.

Puget Sound Energy was on scene fixing the pole, and traffic was being diverted around the incident at Northeast 132nd Street and Northeast 141st Street. Police said the detour could last for "a few hours" on Monday afternoon.

The collision caused a blackout in the area affecting about 312 customers, according to PSE.

The driver of the SUV was not seriously injured, police said.
