Symetra Employees Give Back in Kirkland during Symetra Week of Service

Wearing bright green ‘Symetra Volunteer’ T-shirts, 20 Symetra employees from the company’s Bellevue headquarters office took a break from their workday last week to give back to two Kirkland organizations — contributing nearly 60 volunteer hours on behalf of the Green Kirkland Partnership and Peter Kirk Community Center as part of the eighth-annual Symetra Week of Service (June 13–17 ).

Symetra provides employee benefits, annuities and life insurance through a national network of benefit consultants, financial institutions, and independent agents and advisors. The Bellevue-based employees assisted with park maintenance and cleanup at Juanita Bay (Green Kirkland Partnership) and helped clean the kitchen facilities at the Peter Kirk Community Center on behalf of the staff who daily prepare meals for seniors.

Symetra Week of Service began in 2009 with 130 employees in the Bellevue office volunteering at seven area projects. For 2016’s Week of Service, more than 500 Symetra employees volunteered at 47 projects across the country. Since the program’s inception, Symetra employees have contributed more than 10,000 Week of Service hours.
