Two LW Grads and Band Fleet Foxes Earn Grammy Nomination

Robin Pecknold and Skye Skjelset, both 2004 graduates of , and their band Fleet Foxes have been nominated for a Grammy for the album Helplessness Blues, according to the Seattle Times and Associated Press.

The nominees were announced Wednesday night in a live television broadcast from Los Angeles, and several Northwest bands and musicians were among them, including Death Cab for Cutie, The Decemberists and Eddie Vedder.

Fleet Foxes are signed to Seattle's Sub Pop label. Helplessness Blues was released in May and includes a song of the same name. The album was nominated in the best folk album category.

The winners will be announced Feb. 12 during the 54th Grammys presentation on CBS.
