25 Pounds Of Pot Shipped To Thurston County Furniture Store

The pot was packed inside a ottoman shipped to an Olympia furniture store.

OLYMPIA, WA - Now we know why furniture is so expensive. Someone shipped an ottoman to an Olympia furniture store with 25 pounds of marijuana packed inside, according to Olympia police. The department posted photos of the "odd delivery" on Twitter.

Even though recreational marijuana is legal in Washington, illicit sales are still very illegal. Delivery of marijuana is a Class C felony and carries a penalty of up to five years in jail and up to a $10,000 fine.

However, it's unclear if the marijuana was shipped as part of a legal recreational transaction. The ottoman was shipped to the Hawks Prairie Home Furnishings store along Cooper Point Road Southwest.
