Alex Bing Runs Wild, Scores Five TDs in Lumberjacks 38-6 Victory
Lakewood earns its third win in a row and are on course to advance to the Nisqually Youth Football League playoffs.

Lakewood’s Alex Bing performed his version of beast mode on Saturday when he scored three rushing touchdowns, returned a kick and a 32-yard interception back, lifting the Lumberjacks fifth -and sixth-grade team to a 38-6 drumming over the Fife Trojans at Woodbrook Middle School.
The Lumberjacks (3-1 overall) are first place in the Nisqually Junior Football League and are poised for a playoff berth. Bing’s performance ensured their victory with top performances playing several different positions.
On the opening kickoff, Bing escaped the entire special teams defense for a 62-yard touchdown. He then ripped off two rushing TDs (27, 44) followed by an interception-touchdown.

The Lumberjacks sat on a comfortable 26-0 lead at halftime, and not much changed in the second half. Bing raised his hand again. This time, he punched it in from 50 yards out.
With the defense well aware of Bing’s presence, Lakewood quarterback Zach Panui completed passes to wide receiver Christian Dorn for 30 and 4 yards, giving the Lumberjacks the ball at the goal line. Then running back Jordan Bush-Johnson scored a touchdown on a 3 yard toss play.

While the offense was scoring, the defense was committed to pitching a shutout. Defensive ends Reese Martinez and Tyson Zeutschel wreaked havoc on Fife’s quarterback and the disrupting the Trojans' running game.
The fifths and sixths play Graham at 9 a.m. on Oct. 18 at Woodbrook Middle School.
The Lumberjacks third -and fourth-grade squad fell short against Fife, 25-15. Lakewood’s Jayqueis Johnson had a good game, scoring touchdowns of 40 and 73, respectively in the first half.
But it was all Trojans in the second half. Lakewood struggled stopping the run, dropping to 0-5. They were eliminated from playoff contention. Coaches say, however, that the team is steadily improving and they are close to their first victory of the season.
The fifths and sixths’ next game is at 1 p.m. on Saturday against Graham at Woodbrook Middle School.
The seventh and eighths had a bye week. They will face off against Fife at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Woodbrook Middle School.
