• Sound Transit fall service change begins Aug. 29 (mymltnews.com) — Lakewood riders face major Sound Transit changes starting Saturday, including Route 574 shifting to Federal Way with stops moving from Lakewood Transit Center to Lakewood Station bays 3 and 4. New overnight Route 597 will link Lakewood and Seattle, replacing Route 570 and helping late-night airport travelers, while Route 594 gets added trips and schedule tweaks.
• Dozens flee as shots fired out outside Parkland bar (mynorthwest.com) — Lakewood officers were called in to help Pierce County deputies manage a large, emotional crowd after a man was shot outside Marco's Cantina in nearby Parkland early Wednesday. With 40 to 50 potential witnesses but no one cooperating, investigators are urging anyone who was there or has surveillance video from around 1 a.m. to contact the sheriff's office.
