
Pierce College District invites the public to meet the four finalists for president of the Puyallup campus this week.
Each of the candidates will appear individually at forums Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday on the Puyallup campus. The forums will be question and answer sessions with the college and local community.
The forums and finalists will be at 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.:

Monday, April 15 – Paula Boyum, Ph.D., vice president of economic and workforce development at Bellevue College in Bellevue. Boyum’s degrees include a Doctor of Philosophy in Education and a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Tuesday, April 16 – Marty Cavalluzzi, Ph.D., executive vice president for instruction and chief academic officer at Edmonds Community College in Lynnwood.Cavalluzzi’s degrees include a Doctor of Philosophy in Marine Science and a Master’s of Arts in Marine Science from The College of William and Mary in Virginia.

Thursday, April 18 – Andrea Olson, J.D., special assistant to the president at Lake Washington Institute of Technology in Redmond. Olson holds a Juris Doctorate degree and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Puget Sound.
Friday, April 19 – Bob Mohrbacher, vice president of instruction and student services at Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake. Mohrbacher is pursuing a Doctorate in Community College Leadership from Oregon State University. His other degrees include a Master of Fine Arts degree from George Mason University in Virginia.

A reception will follow each meeting.
The candidate selected as president will oversee operation of the Puyallup campus, replacing Interim President Colette Burnette. The previous president, Patrick Schmitt, left last year to become chancellor at West Valley-Mission Community College District in Saratoga, Calif.
Pierce College District 11 Chancellor and CEO Michele L. Johnson will appoint the president based on careful consideration and input from the screening committee; interviews; forums, and feedback.
Pierce College District 11 is a community college enrolling more than 24,000 students annually online and on campuses in Lakewood and Puyallup, and at centers on Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
