Apartment Fire Critically Injures Lakewood Woman
An early morning fire at the Clover Creek Apartments hospitalized one woman and displaced several others.

LAKEWOOD, WA — A Lakewood woman is hospitalized with critical injuries after a fire at the Clover Creek Apartments Friday morning. Firefighters arrived on the 12500 block of Addison Street shortly before 6 a.m. KOMO News reports firefighters found an unconcious woman in the unit that was on fire and pulled her from the building.
Investigators said flames were contained to one apartment, but at least 10 residents were displaced while investigators determined the extent of the damage. Pierce Transit sent a bus to the scene to keep people warm while crews cleared the building. Clover Park Schools said the fire response also made school buses arrive late on some routes. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
@PierceTransit is supplying a bus to the scene to shelter building occupants from the cold during the incident.

A fire in the Springbrook area has limited accessibility for school buses in part of our district. This may cause some of our buses to run late this morning and arrive to bus stops a little later than usual. It is important your student still be @ their bus stop on time. pic.twitter.com/FDahAj9VrH
