Armed Forces Day Celebration 2014

Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Lewis-Main, will open its gates to the Puget Sound community for the installation's annual Armed Forces Day celebration on Saturday, May 17, 2014, from 10 am to 6 pm. This year's attractions include: military vehicle displays, historical military reenactments, carnival rides, music and roving entertainment, climbing wall, 10K Volksmarch & Volksbike, and of course food and craft vendors.

Cost: Admission, parking, military displays, and viewing the historical re-enactments and athletic events are free. Carnival rides, food, and crafts are available for purchase.

Access and Parking information: Guests without a DoD ID card holder in their vehicle should enter JBLM via the DuPont Gate, I-5 Exit 119. Northbound travelers should stay to the right as they exit the highway, southbound travelers should turn left as they exit the off-ramp and proceed eastbound across the overpass to enter the installation. Proceed to the parking area, where shuttle buses will transport visitors to and from the event site.

DoD ID card holders may use any open gate and proceed to the Cowan & Memorial Stadiums event site.

All vehicle occupants, aged 16 or older, are required to present state or government issued photo ID for entry to Joint Base Lewis-McChord. All vehicles entering Joint Base Lewis-McChord are subject to inspection at any time. These inspections are conducted as an installation force protection measure. Civilian vehicles that are selected for inspection will be directed to the inspection area. Vehicles cleared for entry to the base will be directed to a parking area for shuttle bus transport to and from the event site. Refusal to submit to the inspection will result in a denial of access to the installation.

Visitors may not bring weapons, alcohol, fireworks, or pets onto the base. Medical alert and medical assistance animals are permitted.
