Baby Of Mom Run Over By Minivan In Steilacoom Dies: Report

The baby, Joseph, was delivered earlier this week after his mother, Shannon Macleod, was killed when her minivan ran her over.

STEILACOOM, WA - The baby delivered earlier this week after his mother was killed by the family's minivan has died, according to reports. Shannon Nichole Macleod, 35, died Monday after her 6-year-old son accidentally put the family minivan into gear while Macleod was loading it from the rear at Sunnyside Beach in Steilacoom. The vehicle pinned Macleod, who was 8 months pregnant, underneath, and she died on the way to the hospital.

The baby, Joseph, was delivered by emergency C-section. But according to KOMO News, the family reported Friday morning that Joseph has died. In the wake of the accident, Macleod's son, Nathan, established a fundraiser to help the family pay for a funeral and for other expenses.

"She gave birth to me at the young age of 15," Nathan MacLeod wrote. "All she cared about was her kids. Did everything to take care of them no matter what. Her baby is alive and in the hospital we need all the help and support we can get. Please help if you can I don't ask for a lot but please. "
