Bigotry All Around
My name is Rob and I am a 34-year-old retired military soldier. Now, one of the awesome benefits of being in the military is the opportunity to meet people of different cultures and backgrounds, and in doing so receiving a deeper appreciation for the differences we all share. The fact though is that every day people around the world are subjected to some form of discrimination. Over the extent of my blogs I will be eluding to current events, news, or personal experiences by myself, or others that point out some of these discriminations. One of my biggest pet peeves is when an entire group of people are judged because of the actions of the few idiots that make headlines.
I myself am a professed Christian however anyone that dares to insinuate that I must be one of those right winged, gun slinging, conservatives bullies has another thing coming. This is the idea that is put forth by the media because it sells, however, the fact remains that many Christians have many different views on social and other issues. I for one would probably be considered the “black sheep” of church. I have such alternating views on how things are that in a sense I am very much a liberal in the church’s view. The point I am trying to make is that people are quick to judge once they hear you carry a certain title.

I look forward to all the comments and debates my postings will hopefully generate but most importantly I look to create a dialogue between people on both sides of the fence, isle, or whatever you want to call it and maybe just maybe we can all find the common ground that has always been there.
So to reiterate I will be tackling the tough issues that both show a deep rooted sense of discrimination, to include times when there is reverse bigotry, due to the judgment of a group due to the stereotypes put forth by the world. It may be shocking to know that many people who preach against alleged discrimination by other religious, ethnic, or social groups may unintentionally be finding themselves to have common views with a guy named Hitler.
