Boys Soccer: Clover Park Preview

There are many new faces on the Clover Park boys soccer team, along with new head coach Mario Guadron.

Guadron is bilengual, which has been highly useful in communicating with many of the Warriors' soccer players who speak Spanish as their primary language. He often times translates what he says in English to Spanish.

He said the keys to the season will be passing the ball more, communicating with each other and conditioning.

In the team's South Puget Sound League 2A league opener, the Warriors dropped a 3-1 contest over Washington on Tuesday at Harry Lang Stadium in Lakewood.

Trailing 2-0 in the first half, Clover Park's Carlos Perez scored a goal on an assist from Missael Morgal, cutting the lead, 2-1. But the Patriots extended the lead and the Warriors were unable to rally from the 3-1 deficit.

Clover Park will play White River at 7 p.m. on Friday at home.
