Boys Track & Field: Lakes Sprinters Lead The Way
Lancers have strong group of track athletes along with high jump and distance runners.

Returning top athletes
- Lakes junior Cedric Dozier in the 400-meter and 1,600 relay.
- Chris Edgecomb, junior, in the hurdles and pole vault.
- Lakes sophomore Sammie Long in the 400 and 1,600 relay.
- Taylor McCallister, senior, high jump, triple jump and relays.
- Lakes sophomore Marquinn Russell in the 100, 200, 400, 1,600 relay. Russell placed eighth in the 200 in the Class 3A state tournament this past year.
- Izaic Yorks, junior, qualified to the state finals in the 3,200 and 1,600 but will also run the 800 this year.
- Lakes' Alex Caba, junior, runs the 1,600 and 800,
- Gabe Harrington, junior, competes in both distance events.

- Lakes sophomore Keyshawn Lee in the 110 hurdles, 300 intermediate hurdles, long jump and relays.
- Zaheer Webb, junior, throws the shotput and discus.
- Lakes senior Kyle Schueler competes in the shotput and discus.
Our overall team strengths
"This year our strengths will be in our sprints, relays, high jump, distances and coaching," said head coach Willis Freeman who enters his third year and 11th overall.
