From Rucksacks to Backpacks: Iraq Veteran, Film Director to Present Documentary
Kyle Hausmann-Stokes will share his film "Now, After…," a graphic documentary about his own experience as a soldier returning home and facing the effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder on Nov. 3.

Imagine leaving your friends and family, everything you love, to face unspeakable danger in a foreign place, experiencing things your loved ones could never understand. Such is the reality for thousands of military personnel serving in Iraq and Afghanistan for the last decade. What they’ve seen and experienced are things only other servicemen and women could understand.
Kyle Hausmann-Stokes, director of Now, After…, understands. Now, After… is his graphic documentary film about his own experience as a soldier returning home and facing the effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). He served five years in the Army’s Airborne Infantry, including one year in Iraq as a squad leader and convoy commander.
He returned home with a Bronze Star for his service and a commitment to using his passion for filmmaking to tell the stories of real soldiers. Now, After… has been so well received by the military community that the Veterans Administration now uses it in hospitals, universities, police stations, and courtrooms to bring authenticity and awareness of PTSD into the mainstream.
